Some days just don't go your way — a hard test, a fight with a friend, a comment that stung. Bouncing back doesn't mean pretending it didn't hurt. It means letting yourself feel it, then choosing how to move forward.
1. Name what you're feeling
"I feel disappointed." "I feel embarrassed." "I feel left out." Naming the feeling helps it pass through you instead of getting stuck.
2. Take care of your body first
Drink water. Eat something. Sleep early. Your feelings always feel bigger when your body is tired or hungry.
3. Talk to one trusted person
You don't have to figure it out alone. A parent, an auntie, a friend, a teacher — saying it out loud often makes it smaller.
4. Ask: what is this teaching me?
Tough days are often lessons in disguise. Maybe it's teaching you who your real friends are, or that you're stronger than you thought.
5. Plan one good thing for tomorrow
Give your brain something to look forward to. A favourite breakfast, a walk, a chapter of a good book. Hope is a habit.
"You have survived 100% of your worst days. That's a perfect record."
